Katy Perry and John Mayer's friends want them to get engaged.
The 36-year-old 'Wildfire' hitmaker is expected to propose to 'Roar' singer, who split from British comedian Russell Brand in December 2011 after 14 months of marriage, in the near future.
A source told E! News: 'It's inevitable.'
The insider said that the couple are 'very serious' and added: 'Everyone wants them to get engaged. They are so perfect together.'
Katy recently gushed about her feelings for the singer-songwriter, whom she first started dating in June 2012.
She said: 'I actually am dating my crush. I had a crush on him for a long time.'
She also insisted she loved being married even though she got a divorce.
She said: 'Of course. I really loved it. It was a new, fun, exciting journey. But I like how I am now, and I think all things happen for a reason.'
John, who previously dated Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, presented the 29-year-old star with a heart-shaped ruby ring for Valentine's Day in Santa Barbara, California, earlier this year but a source insisted at the time that they weren't ready to tie the knot.
The insider said: 'It's a one-of-a-kind Daniel Gibbings ring featuring a 12 carat ruby high-dome cabochon heart shaped centre, accented by two teardrop faceted sapphires and rubies, set in 20-carat gold.'

Victoria Beckham wants to star in 'Girls.'
The 39-year-old star reportedly told the show's creator Lena Dunham how much she loves the latest series of the comedy drama series and that she'd love to make an appearance. 
Lena, 27, is open to the idea of the former Spice Girl being on the show and has an idea for her to have a cameo as herself. 
A source told heat magazine: 'Victoria said she would love a cameo in the next season. Lena said she would love that and work on creating a suitable role - most likely, Vic playing herself.'
Victoria also plans to introduce her two-year-old daughter Harper - her child with husband David Beckham - to the show when she is old enough. 
The source added: 'Victoria told Lena how she and David are huge fans of the show, which her pal Eva Longoria urged her to watch. Vic said they loved how down-to-earth and the real comedy-drama was. She even said she wants Harper to watch when she's old enough, to get a more 'all-round education and perspective' of girls and their trials and tribulations.'
During their chat, Lena asked Victoria if she could help her revamp her style and update her wardrobe with some stylish new outfits. 
The source revealed: 'Lena said she'd sort out a role if Victoria would give her a makeover. Lena believes Victoria can upgrade her style.'

Taylor Swift says the Country Music Association Awards are her favourite night of the year.
The 23-year-old star - who is nominated for six accolades at the 47th annual ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, and picked up three early trophies, including Video of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for her 'Highway Don't Care' collaboration with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban - has been looking forward to the star-studded event for ages.
The 'Everything Has Changed' hitmaker, who stunned in a haute couture Elie Saab red gown, said: 'It's a big deal, a huge deal to have six nominations, it's one of the biggest nights of the year, it's so exciting and you get to see some of your friends.'
She added: 'I'm performing with some of my favourite musicians, Alison Krauss and Vince Gill... It's something I've been looking forward to for a very long time.'
The blonde beauty, who was also informed before the bash that she would be taking home the Pinnacle Award, which recognises an artist who has achieved worldwide prominence through concert performances and record sales, insisted she wasn't stressed about her outfit before Tuesday night's (06.11.13) event.
She previously told the UK's BBC Radio 2: 'The dress is very sorted, I picked it a couple of days ago, tried it on today... it's a dress. A long dress.'
Taylor, who led the nominations with Kacey Musgraves, is also up for her third Entertainer of the Year title.
Blake Shelton - who took home Entertainer of the Year in 2012 - is up for five awards, while Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, who is presenting the awards with Brad Paisley for the sixth time, and Little Big Town all scored three nominations each.

The 'Modern Family ' star will be the latest celebrity to share the secret to getting dandruff-free locks when she endorses the brand in the New Year. 
Sofia is looking forward to fronting the campaign - which also features her real family members - as she claims the product has always been her go-to shampoo.
She said: 'I am excited to be joining a new family. Head Shoulders has been a part of my hair care regime and my family's since I was young. In fact we joke that eight out of nine Vergaras use it; and there are a lot of us.'
The 41-year-old star - who follows in the footsteps of 'How I Met Your Mother' actress Alyson Hannigan - is reportedly locked into a long-term endorsement deal with the brand for a hefty seven-figure sum.

Nicki Minaj to release next album in 2014

Nicki Minaj has confirmed she will release a new album next year.
The 30-year-old rapper hasn't dropped any music for the last 18 months, but she admits she's beginning to plan her third LP and is expecting it to be ready by the end of 2014. 
Speaking to MTV, she said: 'I'm definitely working. I'm very excited at what I've been coming up with. I already started, I didn't tell anybody because I didn't want to jinx it and stuff but I already started and I'm going home tomorrow to really start.'
The 'Super Bass' hitmaker is remaining tight-lipped about who she is working with, but she's confident the people she has selected for her new studio album will put a different spin on her music. 
She explained: 'I'm really excited and the people that have been working with me now, have been people that I haven't worked with before so it's like they're bringing a new sound to the album that I've never experimented with and plus, I got so much to talk about.'
Nicki insists she'll enough content to work with when it comes to penning her lyrics because she's been through so much since she last released any music. 
She said: 'In the features, I don't really delve into no real deep sh*t And with the album, thank God, I've experienced so much in the last year and a half that there is so much for me to talk about and I know my fans are going to be excited about it.'
